If your Rinnai water heater isn’t functioning properly, try these steps:
1. Controller Check: If you have water heater controllers (typically in the kitchen or bathroom), ensure they are turned on. After a power cut, controllers need to be manually turned back on.
2. Power Check: Ensure that the appliance’s power point (often located outside) has power. Use a device like a phone charger to check if the outlet is functioning.
3. Fuse or Circuit Breaker: If a fuse or circuit breaker (RCD) has tripped, this could indicate an electrical fault. Replace the fuse or reset the RCD. If it trips again, call an electrician or qualified technician.
4. Gas Supply:
* Is there gas in the LPG cylinder?
* Is the LPG cylinder valve open?
* After replacing the LPG cylinder or if the appliance hasn’t been used for a while, you may need to bleed air from the gas line. Turn a hot tap to the full hot position and turn it on and off 10 times. Check if hot water is produced. If not, repeat the process.
5. LPG Cylinder Size: Ensure the LPG cylinder is 45kg, as smaller cylinders can freeze in cold weather and won’t operate the heater properly.
If you’ve tried these steps and your water heater still isn’t working, call Agasman, and our friendly team will assist you with troubleshooting or arrange a repair.
